Had my new xtx 07 now for a week done just over 350 miles had no problems at all, she cut out on me once but it could have been me and not the bike very surprised not to have any surging problems the only problem i have is i never want to stop riding it. thank you yamaha for a great bike wot fun

:nod: I've now had my 07 model for 3 weeks and have covered just under 1000 miles. Most on A roads and motorway. I've had an average of 60 mpg doing around 75 mph.

I haven't had it cut out on me but do find it slightly jerky at slow speeds. It could be me as i've come from a GSX 1100 and am finding you have to work the gear box to get the most out of the engine.

I have no complants about the handling expecially on B roads!

Great bike so far.

Hi guys. had my xt aboult 3 months now done just over 500 miles. not had any prob with tyres front brake awesme back not so good. at around 30 does seem snatchey unles i drop a gear. put some new pipes on cant say ive noticed much diff but sounds a lot better.a lot lighter now as well.thinking of putting a k.a.m filter in. has any body got one and any prob. dave:jumping0006:

Do you mean K&N filter - if so no problem at all. Add a D.N.A. stage II filter to make a LOT of difference.

Hi I am a newbie to the site...
Thinking of going from a KTM 640 Adventure to a XT660Z Tenere. Offroad on the KTM is fantastic, but long hauls on the road is a buzzing nightmare!!!
So I am really interested to know what the '07 660 is like at m-way speeds on long hauls? Is it a tingling nightmare that makes you want to stop after one hour, or are full tank stetches no issue. Any advice & comments would be great.

5500 miles since march 07,three rear tyres ,500-1000 miles left in front.
Fuel - general riding 100 miles to reserve.
Used clutch to smooth out surging but nowadays dont notice it.
Been late a few times and had it flat out for a few motorway hours and still not topped up with oil.
Took pillion footrest off,toolkit and handrails about 6lbs lighter.
Up graded fork oil and dropped fork legs 15mm otherwise standard.Front brake great handles fine,just lacks a little power but for the money its spot on .cheers johnno

Meach,I mean im on 3rd tyre ,getting around 2200 miles.cant wait for front to wear out so i can change make of tyres.I am a ok rider the tyres just wear out quick i did more miles per tyre on my ex Gsxr.cheers johnno

If you must fit aftermarkets then keep hold of the old pipes as no one wants the original pipes anyway, if youre looking for power mods then buy a dynojet power comander and a DNA stage2 filter for the cheapest boost (around 3 or four smooth bhp).

Hi, have now done over 2000km with my XTR still stock standard, no cutting out or low speed surge, all on tar roads, get 20 -25km/l, 160 km/hr indicated easily before it starts to weave, altogether a great package, can't wait to try it on some gravel.
