Steering head bearings...

...can anyone please show me a link on how to check, clean, replace the top & bottom steering head bearing's. My bike, XT660z, is now ten years old, 37,000miles, and they've never been looked at since. I'm going to have a go this winter...thanks :toothy5:

I can't offer a link but the bottom bearing outer is quite hard to remove from the frame as there's so little of the lip exposed due to the thickness of the headstock.
I used a teng 2 leg puller which helped greatly.

There is a post on here somewhere that explains the process, you'll need to have a search.

It's not a difficult job as such, but replacing the bearings can be frustrating when they don't drop out....
