Running problems xt660z
 

Hi everybody
Just bought a tenere maybe not the best looked after one
Have done a service on it and still have some running problems
It has o2 and fuel mod which when i set to 7 oclock seem to run pretty good and fly up through the gears to 90/100mph tbut when i let off throttle and power on again seen very lumpy,vibie and struggling for power drop a gear seems the same rough and vibie problem seems to come and go but like i say from standing start flat out no problem till let off throttle
Any ideas peeps

What sort of revs are you feeling the lumpyness in the higher gear?

The bike came to you with the Kev Mods?..and you changed the settings?..what was it running like before you changed them. Mines set to 4 and runs sweet with no problems.For reference the mod has a wire coming into it which I refer to as 12.

Have you checked to O2?..settings at all as per the mods threads? https://www.xt660.com/showthread.php?t=630

start with a fresh spark plug.
maybe check spark plug.
shut engine and immediately check spark plug,when the problem occurs.

What mods are fitted to the bike? As a setting of 7 would mean you have stages 1 + 2 + DNA filters & a full free flow system fitted to the bike, have you tried to dial back the adjustable mod to 3 O clock?

as i said probably not the best looked after so in the middle of doing a few bits
sprocket bearing ,crush rubbers, bell crank bearings and swing arm bearing with the bolt sized in it :(
also every bolt on the bike seem loose including engine bolts and sprocket bearing was nearly seized which would help with the vibes
so everything order and on the way and i ll see what its like when back together and get back to you
any tips for getting swing arm pivot bolt out its badly sized, hammer is not the answer bolt just swelling

yes it has stage 1/2 dna filter (also stage 3 came with it not fitted at min)
it has akrapovic twin pipes
and o2 mod and fuel mod
i was offered a pc 5 , a guy bought it and never fitted can get it for nearly half price but dont see any maps for my set up from dynojet would it be worth buying
