Phew, as there hadn't been any new posts since Friday I wondered if the Captain had pulled the plug early.

Strange the site being so quiet...a sign of things to come..

nic when you look at who's on line at any given point in the day, it'll be three members and 7 million google bot search spiders and over a 24 hr period a dozen members may have signed in but not necessarily said anything.

Tiz true.....The pace has slowed. Even old Masters aren't bothering as some are unwell or have moved on, but there is nothing new to add as all the problems are generally answered and this has become a big searchable library now and any new sexy tours and pictures are up on youtube. Plus the X/R/Z's are all getting old in the tooth and newer, sexier stuff is out there. Especially with Euro emissions killing off the beast.

For example, I've spent 2000 on my Ten that cost me 3400 in 2014 and over the last 4 years (and not in service items) I've nearly p/x'd it at least 4 times. The last occasion being last summer for a huge Polaris quad, that is more capable on the trails and tracks where I live and is also capable, and legal, on the highway. I've given up on speed for spending time with the view. Plus the dual seat is proper comfortable and it has sooooo much more tent carrying ability. The Tenere's days are truly numbered ........for me.

Farcebook will almost certainly see the demise of forums before much longer.
You can put a search on it for almost any subject that you may be interested in and nine times out of ten a group has already started, containing many of the regular posters you once found on the forums that were of interest to you.
People seem so wrapped up in smart phones that I can't see it ending any other way if I'm honest.

Pete.

There's a lot of strength in what you say. However, if you "Google" search an XT660 issue the top responses are always hyperlinked to 660.com and not FB. Try the same thing in FB and you'll either get the local or national XT club that is short on the answers/response or actually suggests you look at 660.com

It's kind of what I mean in my post. Who will they link to when the knowledgeable forums are no longer available as a source of info from those that might actually have a clue what they're talking about.

Pete.
