Throttle stuck issue

Hi all,

I have throttle stuck issue. When handlebar is turned to the left, throttle doesn't release itself so i need to pust it. It is OK when riding.

To solve this issue, i removed down cap of throttles cable at handlebar; and push cable worked well. Then i mounted cap again, push cable didn't work.

How can i solve this?

I had this on mine and have had similar on various bikes...take the throttle housing apart..cables out and flush them through with wd 40 or similar..I then used a lube with ptfe in it...

The throttle/twistgrip on mine was also fouling on a build up of rust and what I assumed was some kinda grease which had formed an effective paste stopping it returning smoothly..

Thank you for your reply. I wonder why housing cap effects cable working? No cap no issue :headbang:

maybe it's fouling on the actual twist grip itself..

hi guys, not sure to understand if its resolved, but all is due to the distance of the grip on the handle bar ;)

Hi mate,

I had no time to check if oiling throttle tube.

Can you please explain what you mean as distance? How to fix it?

if you have NOT removed the actual switch/housing at all then the issue is not due to any distance issue. Basically i think whats being said is that if you have removed it and not put it back in its original place then in theory the cables can become tight on a certain lock...slacken the housing screws and allow it to rotate/find its own natural place that the throttle snaps shut.

TBH I think it down to a combination of no lubrication on the cables and friction in the throttle housing itself.

if you do take the housing off use some tape to mark the original position etc..maybe take pictures as well..
