Shot blasting?

Hi folks, just wondering wether anyone has had their frame shot blasted and then powder coated and around how much I should expect it to cost me?

Most cost effective way is to A..prep the frame yourself. ..ie protect threaded areas / bearing housings etc. If you are having a basic black colour find where your nearest powder coating company is and call in and speak to them....they will usually be happy to fit the frame in with other work and charge a sensible fee....especially if it's cash! Oh and ask them not to be too aggressive on the shot blasting or the frame can end up very 'bumpy' and 'pitted'. Also bear in mind the swing arm will need to be done separately. ...if you are after a wild colour for the frame there are lots of places online, advertising in MCN etc, but you will have to pay the going rate plus carriage. Good idea, I've got a couple of places near my work and I'll drop by and have a chat, cheers Steve
