Hi from Mexico

Hello fellow Tenere fans. My name is Ken Kegler, I live in Mexico and ride a 2014 tenere 660. It only has 26,000 kilometers on it and started to give me trouble. I love the bike but on my last long trip it started to fail at high rpms. No problem, I changed the spark plug and was up and going again. Probably 200 kilometers later a miss now and then at high speed. No problem, put an additive in the gas and the problem seemed taken care of. Then here around town it started to shut off once in awhile but always started up again after a few seconds. Suspected fuel filter. Took it off, cut it open, washed it and sealed it back up. Now it won't start, the fuel gauge flashes and I noticed that current doesn't get to the fuel injector. The fuse is good and I have power to both sides of the fuse. The fuel pump is functioning but the injector doesn't open for a lack of current. Does anyone have any ideas? Thanks and I look forward to getting to know you.
Ken

:006: Welcome on board Ken.

The symptoms you describe (intermittent misfire) sound very much like it could be the wires to the injector wearing through on the frame where they spur off the main loom under the tank and causing an open circuit, which is a common Tenere problem. Take the tank off and have a look. Repair the wires and fit a pad to the frame to stop it happening again.
