For me it does, but I'm a beginner beware. I've riden my brother (he's a big guy) a few times and there was plenty of power to speed up on lights on uphill etc. But then again I haven't done much open roads riding, mostly city.
Power delivery is smooth enough for me, feels more fluid than on the FZ6N actually. My bike does surge sometimes while going 50-60km/h (30-35mph) but it's not bad, just a minor flaw. And there are mods to sort that out as far as I know. Serch this forum, you'll find some interesting stuff, it has already helped me. :icon_thumright:
