Roadside braai

We South Africans love our braai

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Region...e#South_Africa

So, I got this idea of putting up a braai on one of our favourite routes along the gravel road

Took a old car rim and welded it onto a pole, with some adjustments on the inside covering large holes

It was all done and time to test drive it

So, now we can just pack meat and refreshments and a grid, and have a nice braai on route

There's no lack of ingenuity of us South Africans ! [emoji4]

Why not save the bother of taking a grid with you? Make one up for it with a length of chain welded to it and the wheel rim? It can stay with the braai, self contained and ready for use. Or perhaps just hide one up under a bush somewhere in that location.

Or does no self-respecting South African go anywhere without a grid for a braai anyway! ;)

The sad story is that poverty is quite high under the locals, so anything easy to remove will become scrap metal, I'm even worried about the braai itself, sad but true

I did notice that you concreted the base, to keep it there. But what a stunning view.

Recycling at its best, well done Dual.

This is just classic. I'm looking for a small SSteel grid suitable for my bike.
But the view from that spot is just gold. Send GPS coordinates of the braai site and we can rent to use? Will send pics of the fire...promise!

The view is from the crossroads, a few meters from braai
I know Kaapagri sell nice grids

I always pack my grid. There is always somewhere to light a fire and braai.

DirkZ 21-09-16 14:53

That is a luxury braai with some wine and all [emoji16]
