Buck 10-05-06 18:53

They replaced the stickers set two handle bar grips, rear hub because of corrosion and on going engine casing no dramas at all.

You ready for this,
Sticker's/hasnt everyone
Leanangle sensor/malfunction
TPS/as above
Brand new fueltank(that was given a liberal coat of paint)/old one rusted
underneath
RH forkleg/cracked pinchbolt clamp
Headlight stay/rust(bad paint)
only once had to get pro-active:021: & that was with the tank:slywink:

warranty claims

Stickers, lots of them (3rd set) have given up with the tuning fork badges and am keeping the last batch to put on when I sell her.

Front disc . twice due to rusting where spray had been missed on cast iron mounting plate, now laquered.

side stand. amazing, not a heavy bike but the stand buckled in normal use. be sure to check yours out!

Really have to keep on top of the lightly sprayed items, plenty of TLC for the recycled tin can parts also.

To be expected for a budget bike I guess.

stevie7 25-07-06 12:28

Stickers both sides. No quibbles from the dealer,he even let me fit them myself.

3 MONTHS ,AND STILL WAITING FOR MY REAR WHEEL HUB TO REPLACED !!!!!!!

Buck 24-08-06 16:56

2 WEEKS IN THE SHOP HAVING THE WHEEL REBUILT ( what a joke ) phoned the dealers today and told " the wheel is back but we haven't got a van to drop the bike to the London branch " ok so when will it be back " eerrr this time next week" A F***ING P**S TAKE IN MY OPINION . Time to find another dealers i think , this place seems to have no interest in warranty work being done and as such their approach to customer service is frankly rubbish !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

xt660 06-09-06 01:23

Buck....you visited our dealers today on our ride out and I have to say that whatever warranty work I have needed they have come up trumps every time.
No problem at all.....probably over and above what they really were required to do.
Maybe, and hopefully you will never need warranty work again, you should try them if needed.......
Rick

Its a bit of a stretch getting down there for a service, maybe for a day out to the seaside , drop the bike off and pick it up at the end of the day .

xt660 06-09-06 23:56

Well if you need to then it gives another reason to have a day out.......we could try and get you the fazer for the day..........

Will do , i have to bang out another 1000,that shouldn't take long as i use it for work and the fantastic xt660.com ride outs ( nudge nudge ) which incidentally i think everyone who can should participate in ! did we mention the Ace cafe supermoto night this month ? well we need as many of the forum members as possible to make the effort to attend ,hark i hear you say ,wasn't that the event we was talking about the other day where all the stunting goes on ? yes i replied you will enjoy it when you come with all the other members .Now where did i put the mind altering drugs .

I Painted My Tank Stickers With Transparent Lack.so The Stickers Are In The Place, but Another Problem, the Tank Starts To Rust From Under, and The Seat Cover Is Damaged, the Sun Destroyed It..it Was Blue Now Is Yellow, black And Who Knows What Colours And Desens More

beefy40 17-10-06 19:42

rust

bike went in for a service at the weekend ask them to look at the front of the petrol tank where it sits on the rubbers, as the brackets that hold the rubbers have just started to rust where it is welded to the tank on both sides. dealer ask how long the bike has left under warranty, told them till july 07, dealer said come back if it gets worse, hows that for service!

Got my bike back from th e local dealer today.

They have changed all the parts as listed above.

They are also going to change my right engine (clutch) cover because of corrosion.

But this part was not in stock at Yamaha.

So this part will be replaced by them over the new year.

badga 06-12-06 19:08

Rear Cush drives were replaced when I had a service FOC of course and recently they stuck a new throttle sensor on when I had some other work done (didn't ask them to do it either, so how nice was that). I've gotta say that the chaps I deal with at Woking Yamaha are absolutely brilliant. Now they're doing all my insurance repairs after my recent ding! Ouch my foot! (wasn't my fault)

Norton 01-03-07 01:23

Interesting to hear that rear crush drives and engine cases have been replaced as I have been told that these are wear and tear items and need to pay to replace even with warranty until August.

I have done 17,000 miles and 2 winters but sure the engine cases should last better than they have, washed salt off every trip, every day.

Did get the rear sprocket bearing replaced though.
