Often hit the Cederberg Oasis for one night. Last weekend the temp dipped properly and I was in a tent! Luckily, I had company... ;-)
But, ice covered the bike in the morning. Had to smack down one of Chantal's legendary breakfasts, wait for the sun to creep over the mountains and head out back to Hout Bay. 600km round trip. The Tenere eats up that dirt road between Gydo pass and the Oasis. Braaaap!!

One of my favourite places
Going there next weekend (16 & 17 July)
Round trip, sleeping at Mertenshof Biedouw valley - Saturday
Sunday - Wupperthal, Eselbank, Oasis, Katbakkies - home
About 800 km round trip
Gerhard and Chantal are stars

They are stars. Bernard was there with his witblitz "medicine" behind the bar, so you can imagine the noise.

I must join you okes some time. You seem to know ALL the dirt roads around the Overberg! I need to learn some new routes..Eselbank must be quite a lot of fun. Yet to go that way to Wuppertal

Nothing wrong with this country's scenery and nature.
Should have had your fly rod with you looking at those beautiful streams !
