I think my Crank Bearings have gone ?
 

hey

recently did a 700 mile round trip to england 2 up on my 2007 XTX did the noob thing and forgot to check the oil level when I got back the oil level had dipped below the Min mark........

From then I could hear a heavy rattle sound coming from the engine also when I turn it off at the key it sounds like something jumps up and down and also when moving off from a standing start the tapping gets heavier ???

Went to my local Bike garage for them to tell me that the bearings are on the verge of going and its either a rebuild or find an engine to put in it ???

Seen the videos about tightening the Crank Bolt but strongly believe that this will not sort it

P.S bike has 34,000 on the clock

my 09 xtx has 21000 and has a really bad surgy bearing/chain noise on the crank side, just wondered on what the outcome of your bike?

Will let you know when I know more as I`m still waiting for the guy to pick the bike up
