Motul 5100 is what I also use and it it widely used by XTers around this planet, more than any other oil. :blob3:
Tommorow i will change the oil to 10-40 from 15-50 to see any difference,if not,i will simple stop the aggresive accelerations...
Not to throw a spanner in the works, but I use 15W-50 all year round and have never suffered shifting problems, even in temps around 0degC. Frankly, I can't see it causing issues in that department unless the motor is being hammered when cold. My clutch frees off properly.
However, I have noticed some annoying clutch drag when using Yamalube mineral 15W-50 in my WR250R. I used it when I ran out of my preferred (15W-50) oil at work. So oils clearly ain't oils... |
please also mind that one parameter of choosing the appropriate oil for your bike or car is the climate. Here in Greece (as mafiozakos lives in Greece) the type of oil mostly suggested -concidering the climate conditions- is 10-40, maybe this is why almost all XTers in Greece use Motul 5100 / 10-40 :)
Granted, but I live in Adelaide, which has a Mediterranean climate, not unlike that of a lot of Greece, which I've been to twice and can verify that for myself. I understand that people can use whatever oil they like, and that is very good. I just don't believe that oils within a reasonable range has much to do with this Tenere clutch issue. I could be wrong however:icon_lol:
