If you have and iPhone or an iPad Air you can do it with an app that comes with it, on the iPhone 5, 6 and 6 Plus ones the app is called iMovies

If you don't have an iPhone / iPad you can upload your clips on to a windows PC and use Windows Movie Maker to edit clips and add music

Thanks for advice CaptMoto. ...unfortunately my phone is a Samsung Note 4, and I can't find a way to edit on it. I guess I might have to get myself a cheap second hand laptop or PC. Steve

Hi Steve. I don't have any experience directly of video editing apps for Android as I have an iPhone/Pad (and I'm not much of a film maker either). However, my son uses the AndroVid app on his Samsung quite successfully for editing on the fly and he's becoming quite the teenage Peter Jackson these days! He does use a PC and AVS for the bigger jobs and final production.

Have a look at this - it might give you some ideas?

I try to get photos that are pin sharp but sadly all still above my level.

I use a tripod and a device that remotely operates the shutter button from the smart phone, this method ensure pin sharp results :
