Headlight block burning

So I have had 2 looms burn out at the low beam block

The second actually catching fire with a nice green flame

The second lasted 7 months befire ending it's life

Anyone had this troubles? What did you find

I have cleaned the negative contact on the battery and frame / engine

Ideas would be great

Is the bulb of the correct wattage - that would be the first thing I'd check.

Otherwise trace the wiring for any abrasions in the insulation and/or poor contacts, particularly within the handlebar switch and the multiplug just above the radiator on the RHS.

Done all the normal checks mate. But I'll double check what you suggest

It's a h7 12V 55w if I remember right?

Same on mine. It never caught fire but it had overheated to a point where it just crumbled to pieces. Had to cut the wires right back and joined in some thicker wire and some spade connectors. Been fine since.
