I like the look of the touratech seat, just wish they would smooth out that big lump makes it more difficult off road when shifting weight etc...do they do one with no hump?..

Also are the Touratech seats still good when standing on the pegs as I find the stock seat a tad wide when standing for to long. So I'm thinking maybe the Seat Concept option like Macca's may be more suited to standing as it appears to be more scooped out near the front to help keep your legs less spread apart when on the pegs? |

I'm a slim 6' with a 32" inside leg. As well as the TT seat my bike has +15 mm raising links on the rear. I can't flat foot it, but can comfortably place the balls of my feet on the floor which I've always found to be more than adequate. Standing isn't an issue either - never noticed the sides of the seats interfering with my legs. Might be a different matter for those of a more chunky build with thighs like Jonah Lomu (god rest his soul)? |
The tall one is the dogs dodah for sure. How long can you go on that before numb bum sets in? Incidentally which screen is on your black XTZ?

Quite an old photo; at the time the screen was stock with a Touratech spoiler on top which worked very well until I put the taller seat on and my head ended up back in the buffeting zone! :icon_cry: Working on a new custom jobbie over the winter... |
Thats a pretty good endorsement for both seat and bike. Not sure I could do that, but the TT seat is definitely miles better. I will put it to the test next year May. I wonder about clip-on screen extenders vs complete one piece high screens. But this is a separate issue.

Hi guys, I know it's off topic but seeings a sideline topic is screens, thought I'd mention my latest discovery which after a 2 hour test run has proven the goods.
I found a secondhand screen for $15 and played around with various angles and heights. I honestly feel that our buffeting problem exists because the screen is too far forward of our bodies. Try leaning forward and the buffeting stops. Lean back and it gets worse or no better. Riding along you can use your hand to feel the wind flow over the top of the screen. It projects up initially then arcs over and back down again. As it falls down I believe this area to be the buffeting zone. So intead of leaning forward tilt the screen back at a not so vertical angle. It's definitely worked for me. Problem is its a bit difficult with the standard screen but maybe do as I did and find a secondhand cheapy to play with. http://images.tapatalk-cdn.com/15/12...cad41390c0.jpg http://images.tapatalk-cdn.com/15/12...f3939da2bf.jpg Sent from my SM-G920I using Tapatalk |
