Kevs fuel mod

Wishing to extend kevs fuel mod so that I can adjust easily or on the move, and I'm struggling with obtaining the correct cable, anyone have any ideas or recommendations?. Cheers Jo

Hi Jo

These are two simple wires - you can extend them and mount the fuelmod on the bar or somewhere behind the light.

Hi Andy , yeah was thinking up on the dash somewhere but was struggling what type of wire to use , I have a large amount of speaker type wire kicking about the shed and wondered if that would be suitable as I'm pretty sure the sensor wire doesn't carry much ampage..

I'm not an electric-guy - but i use thin wires from the Motobike-Shop or from the Internet.

You can't do many things wrong - the KevMod itself has not the thickest wires.

good luck - i'm mounting additional lights at my Z - it's crafting time:).

That's not a trouble - that's passion :deathmetal[1]:.

I've mounted my front flashlight's 4 times - 3 times and i thought it's perfect - then i saw on a meeting a much nicer way.....and did it the fourth time :deathmetal[1]:.

Others are doing much bigger sh1t with their sparetime and -money.

cheers, Andy

as for extending the Kev Mod wires, you don't need anything special as there's only a tiny current involved. However, increasing the length of the wires will increase resistance so a heavy gauge conductor will help in this respect.

You could use speaker cable, but the insulation isn't great and doesn't resist abrasion and heat well, so not ideal for running along the frame above the engine of a vibey old single! ;)

Ideally use some 0.5mm square automotive wiring. You can get it from Halfrauds (at a price), from and auto electrical supplier, or I tend to get all my wiring bits and pieces from here. It would be worth buying some PVC sleeving too.

Old washing machines are a great source of quality stranded electric cable.
