Alternator Output

Is anyone out there using a heated jacket and gloves. The reason I ask is whether the alternator of the XT660z is up to the job of running these items together. The jacket draws 1.5-3.3amps. The gloves are less but I haven't got the precise draw at the mo. I would be interested to see whether its a workable option or would I be in for a big 'push' to restart the bike as the battery had drained!. Cheers.

Just looked up the current draw of the gloves and its 2.1amp at max.

Having just done an 'in forum' search on the subject I've found an excellent article posted by Pleiades which would lead me to believe I will be ok with the heated kit. Note to self-"Search the forum before you start with your question in future"!.

Hey Kellyboy, don't worry it happens all the time.
For your reassuranceI run my heated jacket, heated twistgrips, GPS and can charge my phone or helmet headset without any problems. I have fitted a Gammatronix LED which shows you the state of power coming from the battery. If all is well the light is green but sometimes in traffic it will go to orange, so I just turn something off until I get going again. Great piece of kit for peace of mind.
I have never had a flat battery or starting problems with this setup.

Cheers Steve
