Best tankbag / Mapcase for the Tenere

I'm hoping to find a way of mounting a mapcase onto the Tenere fuel tank without having a bulky tank bag. Ideally looking for something like a Givi tank lock setup with just a mapcase attached. Any ideas?

Sounds like a workable solution. As it happens there's a tank ring just appeared for sale on the forum (if you haven't seen it already)... http://www.xt660.com/showthread.php?t=24585

http://i1379.photobucket.com/albums/...ps3ndob0jr.jpg I picked up this Zeal Map/pen/coins holder from my local mountain bike shop. Fits on the bars of the Ten fine, waterproof and holds the map in view. Steve

Pleiades, I've seen it but hoping there is an option to buy something with a map case attached, does anyone make one?

Steve, I've experimented with a similar setup using an old "map case", actually the old map holder attached to the early BMW GS jackets; I found airflow either gets under it or the airflow goes over the top both lifting and making it flap.
How do you get on with yours? What happens when you turn the bars and how is it attached to the tank?

Hi Dommeik, I don't have the cross brace on my bars so I attached it to the handlebar...didn't affect turning at all , in fact helped a little with the Windrush through the tank!. I had a small map book, pen, some coins and it didn't flap around, although I did loop a little strap around it for peace of mind. Steve

Hi Steve

I used a similar set up on my XR400, clipped it onto the handlebars and used a length of elastic wrapped around the tank to hold the rear down.
