Switched supply under seat

Hi I've just fitted a garmin loom under my tank to the battery but would like it to only be live with the ignition on. Does anyone know the best/easiest way to break into a switched feed from the battery?

The easiest way to get an ignition switched feed to trigger a realy under the seat is to either:

a) tap into the tail light/number plate lamp feed (blue/red wire) along the LH subframe rail, or...

b) tap into the supply (brown) to the brake light switch on the RHS.

If you go the brake light route, just be wary that you get the supply and not the return (yellow/green) or your GPS will only work when you apply the brakes! ;)

Although protected by a 10 amp fuse, the wiring is lightweight so I would suggest this spare connector block should only run sat navs and stuff under 5 amps. I think there are quite a few threads on here regarding this particular available connection block.

If you want to go for the dash option rather than under the seat, then read this...

It's ok the previous owner had fitted a switched relay for the front spot lights so I tapped into that. Thanks for the replies though as I may move it because the sat nav only charges when the spotlights are switched on. I do tend to leave them on for people to see me coming.
