Tenere in West of Ireland
http://i1379.photobucket.com/albums/...psclefkrzv.jpg Finally escaped from work for my trip to Ireland. Not a great start weather wise, raining and strong side winds over the Severn Bridge, but the Ten handled it with ease! . And after the XR650R it's brilliant on fuel consumption. Steve

http://i1379.photobucket.com/albums/...pszuvxpjdj.jpg All my previous trips to Ireland have been blue sky and sunshine. ....it had to happen!!, rain, rain, rain!., apart from 2 nice days. It was a real chance to bond with the Tenere. There's nothing like riding along a wet twisty, potholed, diesel coated downhill stretch of road with a delivery van up your tail in poor visibility to find out if your bike is your friend!. Even with the Tourance tyres. ...The panniers were great, solved all my luggage needs. The Ten ran faultlessly, used no oil, gave about 60mpg. I'll be changing the tyres soon for some Avon Trail Attack's . I adjusted the chain once, the whole trip was about 1800 miles. Doing the throttle mod before I left was the best move, it transforms the throttle smoothness making riding on and off the ferry etc much more relaxed. It's a must do mod! Steve

Good to see the weather didn't dampen your spirit Steve. Great photos to.

Great photos. :023:
Brings back some memories of some familiar territory. Passed through Macroom many a time over the years for the very same reason you did. Good to hear the panniers are working out well - been waiting for you to fully test them, and it looks like they got a thorough testing too! I think I may well invest in a set as an occasional quick fit lightweight alternative to the tin boxes for short trips. They are an absolute bargain at 85. |
Thanks for the pics! They show those of us who've never been there a different perspective on the world. Thank you.

Wow what an adventure. That pass looks great
