Is there any serious need to tight the locknut except the noise problem???

If I was staying in my local area and doing short trips I wouldn't bother. I would do it as a precaution if I was going on a long trip into foreign lands.

It was definitely loose. If it wasn't for the this forum i have had more trouble finding the probable cause of the rattle.

To bad that the forum is close to EOL
