Just had a pm asking for an update for this so here goeHi. The noise he was experiencing was a normal noise the bike makes when they put there very first bit of power out under load ...... we compared his and mine going up a curb and they both sounded the same . The noise was just a characteristic of the bike ....... but the noise made by the crank nut on these is more of a clunk ...... like someone hitting a vice with a hammer .... hope this helps ...... u can also find videos on youtube of the knock noise itself ......... as for tightening the nut up u need to take the foot rest. Clutch cover . And water pump off to remove the side casing once removed all you have to do is un tighten the lock washer and then torque the nut back upto 120nm ..... one first did it at 10.500 mikes then again at 22.500 and then for some reasson it did it 500 miles after that ... I think the nuts getting tired so I have a new oe here ready to swap it as and when it does it again ... hope this helpss

Check exhaust for blow in welds or that air valve crap.:icon_burnout[1]:

Sorry for the lack of update for those following!

As bikemad said, the noise seems to be somewhat normal and doesn't seem to be damaging to the engine. It's yet to develop into anything serious, just seems to be an annoying noise.

@Mort,
I'll be buying new MTC cans soon so will be having a good look over the pipes.

It could also way of valve clearence, might also be the autodecompressor on the cam that makes the noise.

Hi josh. Bit off topic but what engine bars do you have on? I have a belly pan on and wasn't sure if I could get some on but see you have both on yours
