Has anyone used one of these yet? i'm curious to hear if they are any good, i'm still a noob as far a tyre changing goes so still in need of anything that helps.

Yes, I have these and they are worth every penny. I was really struggling to break the bead on my rear tyre until a friend popped round with a pair of these, and then the job was done in minutes. I then bought my own set. They really are genius and the pair is all you need to easily get tyres off and back on. I also have long workshop levers, but these actually work better. They are just one of those well thought out and executed bits of kit that plain works! A good investment in my view.

never have probs at home... but out on the trail
is another story...

i made the mistake of buying cheap kit to begin with, the last time i tried i spent 6 hrs trying to get a tourance off, maybe just as much me as the levers.

but now my local garage has upped their prices and i want to try do more trails this year it's something i need to learn.

are they as easy to use as the videos make them look?

My wife bought me a pair a couple of years ago - she was hugely disappointed when she saw what she got for her money.

I looked at them and though, you get what you pay for, and was looking forward to trying them out.

To be honest, I have a pair of short tyre irons that do the same job and cost a few ��. It's technique not fancy tools that do the job.

OK, so I've ONLY used these on a Tenere but the little lip in the bead breakers is just too short to push the bead over the inner lip of the wheel (and this is with TKC's, not stiffer road rubber). The handles don't fit in the hand very well and are pretty uncomfortable after a few minutes.

On the plus side, they are lovely pieces of engineering and well finished.

On different wheel these will work very well.

I'd say buy an old wheel off eBay and practice practice practice...

I currently suck at changing tyres at the mo so anything that helps is good.

Interesting to see mixed responses so far. For any difference it may make I'll be using it on a xtr that currently has mitas 07s on it.
