Does that mean it was secondhand? If so is the chain rotating/fitted the same way as it was when it was used before? If it's even been a little worn, and its direction of rotation is reversed, it will make more noise as it beds in.
The other thing is, did your bike have the OE front sprocket fitted (with integral rubber damper) before you changed to the 525 kit. If it did, then you will notice more transmission noise, whether 525 or otherwise. The little rubber ring on the stock Yamaha sprocket does make quite a bit of difference to sound transmission.
Could just be normal of course. I always find a new C&S kit makes slightly more noise than the old one that came off anyway, just because its newer, tighter and not bedded in. 525 chains seem to make more noise than 520s by nature of the fact there's more metal to metal contact too.
