:023: Great stuff Ro. Glad you got it sorted.

Excellent write up and good that you've clarified a few of the vaguer points from the other thread that describes the fix.

I didn't want to start a new thread. So I will use this one.
2008 Tenere. Engine never opened before. 66420km.
Heres the knocking noise. Only video I did before I took RH side off.

And heres when moving with hand. Piston is at TDC.. My mechanic told that it should be worn rod. His one does the same sound and already has 3rd rod in 86k km.

The nut was moving very little, about 3mm but had to use little force to move it.

Does anyone know how long it will take in hours to change the rod?

So are you 100% sure it isn't the loose 36mm nut? Have you removed the lock tab and tried tightening it to the correct torque?

It shouldn't move or make that noise when piston is at TDC? Its retorqued on second video when moving with hand. Not with 110nm but by hand with wrench and enough for hand testing.

Ok today the cylinder was taken off.... they said its the chain that makes the noise. Is it possible? Previous mechanic tells me that its the crank....

Couldn't move the crank with hand, no movement. Previous mechanic told that you can't move it with hand to see if its busted??? He told me that he heard noise coming from bottom... whom should I trust?
Cause if I change piston and repair nicasil and reinstall engine. If it still knocks due to crank then, then I must take everything off again, split the engine...

Also the piston is worn and cylinder nicasil is gone aswell because piston damaged it.

The big nut under clutch cover had little movement, but not much.
Heres the full resolution pictures that I took today:

It makes knocking sound more often after you throttle it. Cant really hear when riding or under throttle
