Seat recover/refoaming

My seat after an hour starts to compress and I think the foam/paddings gone.

Have any of you out there defiance your seat with the standard cover or redone your seat completely?

Who did it, how much, how was it etc etc

Max, hold your horses for a few days as I'm going to see Tony Archer here in Huddersfield. He has got a very good reputation for recovering seats and or sculpting the foam, or replacing the foam with a better quality product. I'm getting some work now and I will be using my bike a lot this year so I want the seat lowering if he can do it. I'll post prices when i've been to see him.
.................and YES I do know him as I've already been to see him a few times, the last when something ate my brand new tank bag during the night when I was camping!. Went to see him on the way home to see if he could 'patch' it up. He had a good look around my bike with full touring kit on it. I'd just got back from a wild camp in Scotland so you can imagine it was fully loaded. He was very impressed by the bike and what I could carry but said that there was one problem with it....... "that colour is ****e"....how we laughed.

I'll be in touch.

These people made a good job of mine, took a fair bit of the step out of it and lowered it a little as well. It was a fairly new seat so did not need to change the cover.
Price was about 35

Cheers harry for this info. I've dropped a seat of to these local boys for reshaping and recovering, due back next week.
I've used gk trim before in Carrick mainly because they can do the stencil on the rear of honda seats but this is more straightforward.

Well found someone in Edinburgh who does upholstery/leather works and spoke to them about the seat and he said he can add foam but pull the leather tight so it doesn't add height but keep the comfort. Only 60 or so. He's got it over the Christmas break so will see when I get back Jan time what it's like
