Movement in suspension linkage

Howdo folks, stripped down the back end of the Tenere to grease suspension linkage bearings and swingarm. When I took out the back wheel there seemed to be quite a bit of up and down movement when holding swingarm. I expected to find worn bushes or bearings, on inspection however they all look fine with no wear to speak of and were greased up. The play seems to be between the bolts and the bushes not bushes and bearings, there are no wear marks on bolts, so is this normal? No sideways movement in swingarm.

I had the same trouble. All the excess movement was where the linkage bolts to the frame.

Thanks for the reply, yes I could clearly see the excess movement was where you described on the pivot point where it bolts to the frame. Guess I'll measure length of bush, measure width of gap and pack out with spacers!
