What Stage DNA is What on a Ten

I'm a bit confused about the naming of each of the DNA stages.

What is what?

Is a DNA stage 1 simply a straight swap of an OE Yamaha filter to a DNA filter with no modification to the airbox?

So what's a stage 2? Is it the replacement of the top of the airbox which results in the removal of the snorkel? In other words this thing:

or just simply the removal of the snorkel?

And Stage 3 is the side of the airbox being converted to filter area, or is that stage 2?

I think I have cleared it up by simply typing it out and posting the links on the OTR website but is it necessary to state Stage 2 and the snorkel removed if they are one and the same thing?

Yours in confusion etc.

It's not totally clear on the OTR website - they kind of imply that if you fit the side cover (with no other changes) this equates to Stage 2 (which it may well be equivalent to), but that isn't what a Stage 2 set up actually is. Here's a rough guide (in pictures) that's hopefully a bit clearer:

http://i864.photobucket.com/albums/a...psd70ee438.jpg + http://i864.photobucket.com/albums/a...ps2405aad2.jpg = Stage 2

http://i864.photobucket.com/albums/a...psd70ee438.jpg + http://i864.photobucket.com/albums/a...ps2405aad2.jpg + http://i864.photobucket.com/albums/a...ps8177080e.jpg = Stage 3

Removing the snorkel effectively does the same job as fitting the Stage 2 DNA airbox top.

There is also a restrictor insert you can fit in the Stage 2 top cover to effectively make a Stage 1.5, which would be as far as you could go with out modifying the fuelling to suit.

Cheers for that great, clear description.
