MTC save gearbox wear!
Hi Chaps,
Just a bit more feed back after 1 day of having my MTC single can on. On my commute to work today I recon I changed gear half as many times as usual, literally , no longer going 5th to 4th to 3rd to 4th 5th and so on to prevent the old judder/ kangerooing when trying to pull a high gear at low revs. The bike is now what I always expected a big single to be like unstrangled , flexible and punchy with a fair turn of speed but not "fast". I know the exhaust is in conjunction with my other kev+o2+ air filter mods but it is the final piece of the jigsaw as far as Im concerned and has really made the bike so very much nicer to ride. I contacted MTC when I realised it was a bit too noisy and they said they would get another baffle in the post straight away, what a company, their service really is among the best Ive ever had. But until I get that I just welded a perforated washer on the end of the baffle and hey presto , a bit of a bark but not so noisy everyone stares and your deafened going along. Ive now pretty much done all the mods I wanted to so bike is finished for the moment (apart from tool tube, heated grips ...... ), heres the list from standard to how I wanted:- -Kev mod - O2 mod - Stage 1 +2 air filter and snorkel removed -Air pump bypassed -MTC single can -High screen -40MM lowered -TKC 80 tyres -Metal Mule panniers -Built in garmin sat nav -Engine bars and sumpshield -centre stand -tail tidied -Inflatable pillow (air hawk seat too pricey) with sheepskin for long journeys Ill put a pic on once Ive sussed how? and thanks to anyone who answered my questions over the last months. Amazing the difference a couple of "black boxes" and a losing the cats makes to the Ten - You get an extra 1000-1500 rpm to play with. :D
Glad you got the noise sorted too.

Hmm. Is that the office swivel toilet?
Or a Tenere toilet seat option? Either way, very innovative lol. |
