Exhaust sound changing on cold start

Hi there I have noticed my exhaust note changes on and off to a deeper tone on cold start up. it's not changing revs just sounds like it's getting deeper then stops. Some times it does it a few times on and off for the first minute of start up. I have a O2 controller and a fuel mod fitted is this normal?

I have recently fitted a 02 Controller and fuel mod with Dna filters to my 2011 Tenere and i get the same noise as your describing, once the bike is warm it disappears.

A strange think is that my old 2009 Tenere i recently sold i used the same controller, fuel mod and filters that are now fitted to my newer Tenere and that never made any noise.

Yea that's it almost sounds like a choke is being activated on and off

Could be the AIS intake sound? The valve is wide open for cold starts to reduce the hydrocarbons for emission control.

Cheers kev so if I block off the AIS as per the mod if it is the AIS will that stop it?

Give it a go block your AIS pipe & let us know if it sorts the sound out.

Yea might give it a crack

Yep that's it turned the bike on and as soon as I pinched the AIS pipe it was sounding normal. It's more of an intake noise should I block the AIS I kind of like the popping on the over runs is it going to hurt the bike if I just leave it
