Sproket and speedo
Hi there I have recently changed my front sprocket to a 14tooth but at the same time I changed my rear tyre to a 140/80 so per all the gear ratio calculators it should be the equivalent to adding two teeth to the rear sprocket instead of three. All is well I love the feel of the bike. But one thing that has baffled me, I have put my gps on to check the speedo and it is reading perfectly spot on to .5 of a km/hr I would have thought the speedo would be reading higher than what I am doing with the sprocket change. Im very confused

My Ten is stock sprockets and runs 10% slower than speedo ie 66 on dash is true 60km/h 110 is true 100km/h. So without doing any calculations it sounds like you have now a true speed matching the under-reading speedo.

Yea it's almost spot on but I would have thought it would have gone the other way going down a sprocket on the front.

Disregard the muppets at the bike shop put a 16 tooth front on instead of a 14 I thought I was going crazy until I pulled the cover off and there was a 16 tooth sprocket.

How do you find it pulls? Over geared or OK? |
Over geared but went fine on road had to change down to 4th with any hills at 100km but was still very rideable didn't do any off-road. But I think if you were gunna do a few thousand km on a long trip would work fine for hwy stuff.
