Hi from Sunshine Coast Australia

Hi Guys,

Just picked up a new Tenere. I also have a 650 V Strom and a CRF450X. I'm hoping the Tenere fills the "gap", I'm too old for the 450 and I'm not a fan of sand on the V Strom. I'll keep the v strom for road and 2 up and make the Tenere an Adventure bike. Once its set up properly I'll sell the 450. Thats the plan anyway:smirk:

One quick question. The screen vibrates badly between 3,000 and 4,000ish. Its definately the screen as I took it off and all is quiet. Is there a solution to this? Is it better/worse with a taller screen?

Cheers guys

Rich

My screen vibrated as yours does when I got my Z. The cause was the headlight unit touching the surrounding bodywork and not actually the screen itself, although removing the screen stopped the vibration (or rather changes the frequency of it) enough to prevent the buzzing noise. I found the best fix was to insert strips of cut up inner tube between the headlight and the bodywork. Did that six years ago and its still working now.

Thanks guys. I'll definately be trying the cut up inner tube fix! Sounds like a cheap solution, I've already tried moving the screen, various torques but the vibration is still bad...

Love the bike though, reckon its here for a decade or more...
