One silencer setup
Hi guys!
Think I am in the right department, it is about mods. Need some advice. Recently bought my Zed model and it is equipped with some tuning devices. Problem is that I dont know very much about that stuff. Must learn of course. http://iloapp.kattarp.eu/data/_galle...00_resized.jpg http://iloapp.kattarp.eu/data/_galle...00_resized.jpg Seller told me I could keep the setup as it is even if I of some reason changed back to original airfilter and silencers. Now I want to replace one of the silencers with a toolbox and do the tidy tail mod as well. I have 2 LeoVince SBKs mounted today. Dont want to loose any of the power I have today so my question is, Is it sufficient to keep one of the Leos or must I get another single silencer with bigger outlet replacing the 2? In last case, what diameter on the outlet? http://iloapp.kattarp.eu/data/_galle...00_resized.jpg Thanks, Tomas |
How is the Auto Tune connected does it have a 2nd O2 sensor bung with the Auto Tunes wideband sensor + the OEM O2 sensor still connected? Meaning if correctly installed you should have 2 X O2 sensors installed on the exhaust header, one for the Auto Tune & the other for the bike.
|
Oh, dont know that so I have to check. I know how the O2 sensor for Autotune looks like
by looking at this picture. But how does the other one look/mounted, they cant be at the same place I guess? http://iloapp.kattarp.eu/data/_galle...00_resized.jpg |
You need two O2 sensors connected at all times, one Auto Tune & one OEM O2 senor with a O2 optimizer or one of my O2 controllers connected to the OEM O2 sensor to map these 660 correctly with a Auto Tune.
If there is only one Auto Tune O2 sensor & the OEM O2 sensor has been removed you will not be able to map the A/F ratio correctly in the closed loop areas, you will also need to have the AIS blocked off all the time while running the Auto Tune. |
Hi Kev!
I got intouch with the seller of the bike asking about the O2 sensors. He says there is only the Autotunes wideband sensors mounted on the header where the OEM used to be. He is pretty sure he got the advice from OTR to replace original against the Autotune one and mount an O2 sensor eliminator on the XT connector which goes to ECU to eliminate the stock O2 sensor. To the last, the AIS is blocked in a rubber hose belonging to the AIS system. So, question remains. Can I take one silencer away without loosing power or must I buy another single silencer with bigger outlet? Regards, Tomas |
Kev can handle all your fuelling questions but FWIW I just removed one of my Twin Barrett pipes to go with the single and tool tube and it runs away better and sounds awesome as well.
Just remember the XT660Z isn't a twin system, it's has two outlets on the muffler but it's still a single essentially. Matt. |
Ops, did I express myself bad before :icon_redface: Sorry if I did.
Im glad if Kev finds out if there is anything faulthy with my tuning setup. Matt, you seemes to have done what I want to do. What diam. does the innerpipes in your Barrets have? |
Think it's about 40mm, typical packed pipe with only a spark arrester screen and no dB killers. Too loud without the screen in but the sound is awesome hahaha
Hope that helps but Ivan measure exactly if you like, not sure if it's stated on tha Barrett website. Matt. |

I would rather not buy a single now when there is lots of other mods to do. And the tuning setup might not be accurate, I have to wait and see what Kev says about it. |
