comfortable cruising speed
 

Would you consider cruising the Tenere at 4800rpm (80 mph on the speedo) comfortable/acceptable?

Done it many a time, for mile upon mile. No problem at all.

Don't forget though, that's more like 70mph in the real world, what with the Z's speedo's overactive imagination! ;)

Done also last weekend for 1'600 km - but just in the non-cruising curving parts of my longer trip. For beeing really comfortable i prefer arount 3'500 to 4'000 rpm's.

But on the highway in Germany i had for longer time also 5'000 rpm's at 130 km/h real or 140 km/h on the instruments.

Don't worry about it - if it's comfortable for you - the XT will take it easily:headbang:.
