new toy and it's brought back my biking joys

had a few moto's back in 2003 but always had sports bikes. been a couple yrs just doing local odd miles and really being not interested. so traded for my xtx and I love it so much fun ideal for work playing bit fun etc etc. so all in all glad I traded last bike for this instead selling up.
going to mod the back end . new cans or maybe mod stock ones bash bars bobbins etc so will keep posting hear with progress. want to sort out restrictions as it no doubt has them.
its a 2012 with 512 miles. so I best be nice to it for a few more miles

iv got a smaller ish plate lol led back light so I can loose all that clutter on the rear. just want to do cans first so I can decide on indicators small or wot I have. but needs a few miles on it iv been told before I mod it engine wise.
but ya I can see me keeping this for a long time and actually using it and enjoying it

Sounds like me mate yes.

Looking at your location it's probably easier to meet up and try mine out. I'm currently in the alps but on my way back today. Will write more.

But in simple terms, the difference between a bike that's full power and one that's standard is massive.

LOL sounds about right then mate.

There's many many more expert people on here than me regarding the tuning/modding of these things, they'll have all the links, the info etc.

But essentially your bike currently has somewhere in the low 40's, possibly 44bhp I think, with the mods done you're looking closer to 53bhp. But it's not just the power it's the way it makes the power and the grunt difference.

The list is as follows.
K&N/DNA stage 1 filter
K&N/DNA Stage 2 filter
Remove airbox snorkel
Fit KEv's o2 mod/electrical jobbie
Exhausts
Fuelling by either power commander or Kev fuel mod.

Now this little lot is likely to cost you 400 give or take (with used exhausts) but the difference is really worth it.

Currently I can't ride out and meet up with you, I've knackered my shoulder jumping tabletops LOL. However, I'm only north of Newbury and you're welcome to come and ride mine and compare back to back.

I've also got the fork spacer mod installed which is another recommended mod on the 660's.

cheers will prob take your offer up. but then again will prob just mod away and ya with singles its about delivery more than power my old ktm was 58bhp hm tuned one and that was grin factor 10 to own and ride. but a bassa to start lol

THe 660x is never going to be the quickest, the most powerful and the lightest SM out there. It's way too heavy to begin with. However, its still able to give grins and can do things that the KTM/Bergs/Huskys simply can't.

1. Go more than 100 miles on a tank
2. Start first time, every time
3. Be ridden at 100mph+ for hours at a time
4. Not explode

They're a compromise on some bits... but massively better on others.

I'm currently debating the suspension options on mine. Well, once I'm fit I am

And then those other bike brands probably don't have a forum like this!
