Spare plug on XT660Z

Hi All,

I think somebody here said that our XT660Z's they have some spare 12V plug/socket/terminal somewhere (behind clocks?) which can be used to connect i.e. GPS etc ?

Where is it chaps ??

Remove the black plastic cover below the clocks and as you sit on the bike you will be able to see the plug on the left.

Excellent - Thank You !

I think I might use it for my GPS;

on my Varadero I have just dipped into the supply to the horn for a supply to a water proof socket that I got of Amazon and heated grips and had no problems

Head to a breaker's yard and they will be able to find you the opposite connector for that plug.

Saves you cutting it off, I don't know what it's used for but it doesn't hurt to be non-destructive.

This is the connector on my 2011 Tenere - it's behind the plastic cover under the clocks.

I used some crimp on 2.8mm male blades inserted into the connector with heatshrink to insulate then connected to a relay to feed a 12v DIN socket, GPS, a charge state LED and a spare for heated grips at a later date. Nicely fitted into the plastic backsides of the grey upper tank plastic bits.

I should take a picture of the neat and tidy job I made of it!

I got the connectors (and other bits) from these people:
