Sorry Steve - Your attendance is mandatory, can't have the patriarch sitting it out... If I have to arrange a taxi for you to the train station and pick you up at this end myself.

(but it's good to see you are on the mend)

its when good mix the custard and sponge pud with a nice dash of Dave's special brake fluid....... I mean whiskey!!!!

stumpydave 15-02-14 16:23

Sponge pudding and custard, oh yeah! I found two packets of custard left over from last year in my panniers and theres always copious quantities of scottish flavour brake fluid available. I'll bring the leftover custard n drinks again this year but I'm sorry the 1998 tin of tomato soup has now been consumed!

hi guys.. whats the cost o this weekend fur camping...?? an is it camping only,as i was gonna come in ma van...sleep in that,??? would that be ok.?? cheers...

maxwell123455 11-03-14 22:00

I think it was around 40 by the time you pay for the camping and chip in for steved to bring all his bits and bobs down. I can't see anyone would have a problem if you brought the van down and slept in it.

afk40 11-03-14 22:29

i know id still need to pay fur the van on site...or jist be sneaky outside the gate.....am kidding:bounce016:

Gas_Up_Lets_Go 12-03-14 10:58

You'd need to put the van on the general camping field. We use a filed that is set aside for us, it is small and access is difficult for normal 2wd vehicles. You would never get the van off the field we use, after it sat there for three nights - it would just sink! The old guy never used to allow any vehicles down there unless they were bikes or 4wd. I don't know if this is still true as they have been doing some work to the field.

I would imagine the cost would be the same as a motor-home, but you would need to contact the site directly to find out. The details are in the main post.

ok i was planning to use my Yamaha DT 125 RE for this event but sadly it will not be on the road so i will be on my XTX how much of a off road event is this should i look at getting some mud worthy tyres as at the moment im running on Continental Road Attack Sportsbike style tyres i see road rides mentioned but thought id ask the question

maxwell123455 12-04-14 18:47

we normally do a road and off road route on fri, then sat is either nav xt or just do your own thing. 99% of the off road stuff could be completed on sm sized knobblies

maxwell123455 13-04-14 21:42

Planning my trip down for the thurs afternoon

Edinburgh, Selkirk, Moffat, Clarlise, campsite.

planning on leaving Edinburgh around 2 or 3pm. if you fancy meeting up give me a shout, if not I'll see you's at the campsite.

Dave-xt660x 15-04-14 08:59

Thursday O'Clock....

Turn up when you can, there will be a big white gazebo with lots of smoke... noise and people falling out of it. Come in, say hello, chuck a coal on the fire and pull up a chair (but you'll need to bring your own)

scottnet 17-04-14 13:37

Do we have any volunteer leaders for a off-road ride on Friday or road ride out on Sat. I am not sure if I can make it up on Thurs else I will be there Friday afternoon
