Home made exhaust?
 

Here goes may be a daft one:

I currently have the standard XTZ system which a good friend and awesome welder has modified to remove the cat. (With the help of multiple posts from the forum!)

I am still not quite happy with the exhaust tone and want a little more boom from the thumper.

Question is would there be any issues with the performance/running if I were to chop the silencer above the link pipe and weld an end can (MTC) to the existing OEM Yamaha pipe.


I already have the end can in my garage and would be nice to recycle.

I hope I have made sense!

Any help appreciated.
