Really like those soft bags.
Yamaha panniers are too easily broken!

Also, have you got a different chain and sprockets on there too?

apprentice adventurer 07-11-13 22:04

re sprockets

I run different sprockets depending on where I go riding.
For example:High country of Victoria, very hilly and not a lot of top speed required 13 front and 48 rear
Desert terrain 14 front and 46 rear
Open road bitumen at higher speeds 16 front and 45 rear
Also change tyres based on where I am going.

If you want to make front end conversion, there is almost bolt on solution if you go with Yamaha YZ or WR front forks.
There are a few of my friends that did this.
You also have to change the springs, and do the complete service.
But cost is easy under 900.

I like what you have done, and it is black what more can I say.
How do you find the soft panniers, I am in still in two minds about which way to go.

Looking good - nice mods. :023:

I don't know whether it's just me or the angle of the photo, but your front brake lines look very tight at full fork extension?

Also, I'm not sure if it's an optical illusion caused by your high mud guard, but your bike seems to sit very high at the front?
Is that front fork springs? Mine are very spongy and the bike sits a lot lower than this.

Been thinking of an upgrade...

Hard panniers are good for security and rain but not very big.
Soft panniers are good for off road as they don't hurt you, they are bigger as well

They are tight as they run down the fork but loose around the top which you can't see.

Standard Suspension set up is for a jockey. I had progressive springs installed, different oil and other stuff I don't understand. It looks high because it's on the centre stand, slightly uphill and I was on my knees taking the photo.
