xt660r/x exhaust on a tenere???
Do you think a 2 into 1 low exhaust system from a xt660r/x will fit on the tenere?
http://www.gpr-motorcycle-exhausts.c...ll-system.html You will loose some ground ground clearance and the sump guard will most likely require modification. Possible require a custom fitting for the mounting at the rear I like the look of the dakar style low exhausts, plus it looks more free flowing than the teneres. Would look great with an akro can on it. Whats your your thoughts? Know if anyone has done this before? Cheers, Tim. |
I can see where you're coming from. These babies would look kind of cool on the Tenere...
http://www.exan.it/exan/wp-content/u...li-inox-c1.jpg However, I think you going to run into difficulties fitting low X/R headers, particularly trying to get them to clear the chain/swingarm, especially at full extension and full compression. They'll also be a problem with luggage too me thinks. Having said that though, nothing is impossible - with the will there is always a way! |
It would look good wouldn't it!
I can either go with OTRs racing headers. A twin exhaust system http://www.off-the-road.de/out/pictu...pe_xt660_2.jpg Or go with the only 2 into 1 low exhaust I can find. Its by GPR http://www.gpr-motorcycle- only thing is, its for a 2004 xt660... the engine looks the same though. Anyone know if the engine is the same? I can see the 2 into 1 being lighter, other than that anyone have any idea what it will mean for the power??? Im thinking of chopping the rear sub frame off, as its too high. I hate the seat sloping forwards. makes the hips rotate forward n u end up sitting on ya nuts! ... so Ill make a lower angled subframe on it, allowing for a flatter seat. An also make it so it can take a rear safari tank... then build a bit of an exo cage/panier racks around it... or just sling one of them giant loops over it. http://www.safaritanks.com.au/home/7...ypage.tpl.html |
xt660r/x exhaust on a tenere???
Engine is physically the same on all post 04 XTs. As I said, biggest problem will be getting round the footrest/swingarm/chain area.
