Greetings/saludos from London

Hi there,

just a quick message to say hi.
Just got my 2009 XT660z second hand full equipment and ready to undertake a big trip next year to Australia :rockwoot: (hopefully).
I will be doing upgrades here and there during the following months.
Great community behind the Tenere! Congrats for the forum! Very useful!

Very happy so far with the bike although first thing I will try to tackle is reducing as much as possible the vibs on the handle bar. I am really not used to it. my previous bike was a CBR600f4i :glasses10:

See you around!

Here a pic with all equipment:

:006: Welcome mate

Smart bike, well kitted out and the correct colour to boot! ;)

When you say Australia, is your plan to ride down there, or are you intending shipping your bike out there and then touring the country?

Hi!

I think black is the right color. Although I have to say that the khaki colour suits very well the TEN! :laughing7::laughing7:

May plan is to do an overland trip down to Australia, hopefully till Melbourne.
The trip is on early stages in terms on route planning but I am pretty sure I want to ride on the KKH going through the stans or Iran and then India, Nepal and SE Asia through Thailand, Vietnam, ect etc. But yet only a plan.
So far the planning has pretty much consisted of choosing the right bike for the job. And I think the TEN is a good bet: realiable, good fuel autonomy, not pricey, not too heavy, not too complex, although lets see how this opinion evolves throughout the next months. Will be riding on my own, so the power should be enough, plus it will not be a race :icon_scoot[1]:

About the kit on the bike, IMH I think it is top-class. The previous owner knew what he was doing and only fitted the right equipment and treated the bike very well. I hope to keep doing the same.

Hi Hebbo,

If you do make it to Melbourne, give me a shout. It would be nice to meet up with a fellow Pom on a Tenere :)

Heb, major jealousy occurring here. That would be so cooooool, except for the Iran bit. I think at the moment a bit of a detour could be wise. I'd love to do what your doing but in reverse. I hope to get up into the Himalayas one day!
Same here, if you make it all the way down here yell out. And of course a trip report on ADV is a must, so we can all drool :D
