OTR vs. Metal Mule
Hi, I've searched through the forum, but not found any comparisons between the 2 into 1 hi-level systems from
Off the Road and
Metal Mule.
I'm especially interested in the difference in sound levels, since I'm not so keen on having a loud motorcycle. I've read some comments about the Metal Mule system being too loud, so I'm wondering if the OTR system is quieter or not. Regards rvm |
I have choose OTR, I got that and compared to my friends MM. But MM is very cheap.

OK, tack fr svaret :)
Do you remember which one who is the most quiet? Is there anything else that differs besides the price? Regards/Hlsningar rvm |
I don't find my MM to noisey as long as the
quiet cone is in.... take it out and it barks... |
I have been an interested bystander looking at 2/1's I run a pair of Akra's with filters airbox holes and a PC and it goes really well, but I have looked at the Metal Mule and in the 21st century you make a system that's held together with springs!!! the clamp that holds the silencer on the pipe was old fashioned and ugly 20 years ago but of course it is cheap,I have been tempted to phone them and ask for a custom version the company that makes them is only 30 miles from.
I have found a custom exhaust man that will make the headers but then you have to find the right silencer or alternatively just pay up and buy an OTR version. |
Yes that is correct, big fail and not use springs that holds the muffler. My friends MM we had to change the bracket to hold the muffler correct. Yes I felt the MM sounds more than my OTR. But if you gonna buy a OTR think again if you put som more money and get a akra muffler because my OTR titan muffler looks like a pansarwagon fire pipe it, s big. ;)
If I bought a OTR today I should bought the one with akra muffler. Skickat frn min GT-I9100 via Tapatalk 2 |
Creptus
Seems like there is another firm that may be doing this kind of exhaust according to this thread:
http://www.xt660.com/showthread.php?p=172229#post172229 The website have since moved to http://www.creptus.cz/index.php/en/ Anyone know anything more about exhausts from this company? |
I have mailed them, and the 2 to 1 system is 305 Euro incl shipping to swe :)
|
If you,r heading for a 2-1 system and don,t have a good bash plate I have one and we both live in Stockholm. I got a Metal Mule and it protects the waterpump compared to others. The price without shipment at Metal Mule is 166 pund + 44 pund for the standard shipment.
http://www.metalmule.com/bike-protection/bash-plate You can buy mine for 900:- swedish kronor, if you got the stock bash plate look what a waterpump will cost if you damage it! ;) Send me a mail if you are interested: landton@tele2.se |

With the Stainless oval one :)

I've got the same reply as well, 305 incl. shipping is cheap!
Mailed him back with some more questions, but for this price I think it may be worth the risk of buying without seeing any reviews. |

I think I will order a system when the paycheck arrives :) |
Hi,
Did anyone try these ? i find their site not providing enough information/specs. i'm curious because i'm looking at the OTR with akra or maybe this one. the mm is a lot of work to install |
Well I looked at it,I liked the pipe work and the price but didn't like any of the options for the cans that fitted.

CREPTUS Exhaust
So, I took the plunge and ordered a Creptus exhaust for my XT660R -07
It's a tight fit, but it's a fit. The package comes with two different end-plugs for the silencer, I have only tried the "silent" one. While not as silent as the original system, I still think its within tolerable limits (I don't want a to loud system). Weight is 5.6 kg (measured) including all the fittings. Without having any real experience of the other systems on the market, I must say that this is probably hard to beat especially when you consider the price. |
Photo's ??

They have but it's a clear as mud about what exhaust can.

Also looking for 2-1 system.. Is this Creptus pipes street legal?

It's also louder than original so that is perhaps an issue as well. So I would say probably not. (Not sure about the rules about these things either, perhaps it's different in different countries?) |
In Finland if i have understood the law correctly the silencer has to be e-marked to be road legal.. Noise doesnt bother me and lack off catalysator is not an issue since i ride 2006 model..
I know metal mule isnt road legal in Finland but in GB it is.. |
