Simple DIY Tail Mod

Ordered a new plate, 7.5" X 6" (still kinda big enough not to get pulled too easily)

Removed the plate illuminator and snipped wires behind the tail.

Fitted the plate bracket above the reflector.

Instead of fixing screws, got a pair of LED Screw bolts

Hacksawed the tail off below the reflector.

Buttsplice the LED lights into the existing illuminator wire.

Self-amalgamating tape round all the connections, tucked them into the rear of the tail and secured with a stick-on clip.

Neat and tidy tail:

Yeah, sorry I'm so late in replying!

Here's the LED Tailbolt (less than 6 $EUR per pair!)

And here's what I did to the tail, took me all of 10 minutes:

Looking at your left hand pannier, you could do with my Scottoiler Fling-Catcher mod... ;)

Ha! Yes, I do!
Will have a think about that myself.

I've just realised that 'existing plate holder' is actually where the plate illuminator sat.
The original fixing holes for the plateholder is on the bit I hacked off.
