Hard luggage suggestions
I currently use soft luggage, but thinking hard in order to satisfy needs for multi-months travels. Looking for suggestions: Stay with soft? (I use Giant Loop) or what brand of hard cases?
I saw the cheap Pelican mock ups from Bunnings and thought that was a decent option, but open to others. |

I run Hepco&Becker alu panniers for years now and I'm very pleased with them. They survived two minor accidents(they even saved me from more injury!!). Together with the pannier frame, they fit perfectly on the Tenere and I think it's convenient they can be closed, an advantage over soft luggage. Anyway, it's all a matter of choice and priorities(and money ....).

I have a pair of aluminium Givi Trekker panniers and mounts and I find them excellent on my XTX, see
http://www.givi.it/Valigie-laterali/Monokey-/dunno how much they cost down under.......

I bought a pair of Givi trekker outback (37 litre) including rack from motostorm.it, $860 delivered by fedex to Melbourne. Really happy with them.

Y have the Giant Loop Great Bassin. Very happy with them for off road trips. But I would like to have some hard luggage as well for long trips.
They are easy to pack and unpack but also les vulnerable to thiefs... These Barrett look nice! |

Peli Hard Luggage/SW Motech/Twisted Throttle
I just fitted a pair of Peli 1550 (35L) cases onto Motech frames with Twisted Throttle adapters and tool tube. About half the price of Metal Mule/Touratech stuff. The Peli cases have a lifetime guarantee.
Oh, and one last thing..... The luggage is slimmer than the bars so filtering is easy - If the bars go through a gap so does the luggage! I've been caught out in the past with Metal Mules on my GS1150 and have since swore never to have panniers wider than the bars. BTW this is my first post and don't know to attach a .jpeg. Will post a picture if someone tells me how. |

You must get the photos (that you want to display here) uploaded to an image hosting site such as Photobucket, ImageShack or Flickr etc. You can then copy the hosted image's direct address from the host site into the box that opens when you click on the "insert picture" button while creating a post. You can also just paste the image's direct address into images tags like this: Or alternatively become a supporting member of XT660.com and get the privilage to upload attachments directly (amongst a host of other benefits!) I would recommend
http://ardcases.co.uk/ Great service and good price compared with most alloy stuff |
