Wheels, Number plate...

Yep, thats a pass.

Pleiades 12-04-13 13:03

I'm sure it will pass. Although you may get an advisory due to the colour! ;)

phil ten 12-04-13 13:10

im sure this has been covered in a thread on here but i cant remember where........

....do you need a number plate light for a MOT? i snapped one of the wires that feeds mine, therefore...it dont work :)

and that bike in the pic should pass on just the colour alone...seems its the best colour and all :eusa_dance:

Chris1811 12-04-13 15:04

Well the verdict is she passed with flying colours and no advisories........the 2nd time around.
Numpty here forgot to put the rear foot pegs back on DOH! *face palm*

As for plate light he never checked it but im sure you need it working. And yes it should have passed on colour alone!

The shop owner/manager (not sure whonhe was) loved it and hopefully is going to sign up to the site. I tried to egg him on to get a test ride from yammy and buy one haha.

Cant recomend them enough if your in Derby, John Coopers theybare called, great bunch and very helpful ;-)

Also then thumping single sounds awesome indoors. I couldnt help myself but to blip the throttle in the workshop haha

Curious. I didn't think they were a requirement. How do Enduro bikes get passed I wonder ?

Chris1811 12-04-13 15:18

Apparently because it has a pillion seat and mountings they are required as they need to be on to be checked etc.

They didnt charge me a retest i just popped home whacked em on and he took a look at them and passed me :-)

Gas_Up_Lets_Go 12-04-13 15:35

So, you'll be coming up norf to fall off your bike in style again.

Chris1811 12-04-13 16:02

Aye! Allready posted my intentions to hold the seminar on how to fall off repeatedly......with style of course :-)

uberthumper 12-04-13 16:46

Mine went through with no pegs - because my luggage rack is bolted in to the peg mounts. I guess it's down to the tester whether he considers it a long solo seat or a dual seat. Or he reckoned a pillion could put their feet on the rack bars. I dunno.

Chris1811 12-04-13 18:35

He did ask do u have pegs for it. I automatically said yes and then he told me ........ I reckon if id have said no it would have passed.

Pleiades 12-04-13 19:18

Congratulations Chris! :D

A car needs number plate lamps for the MOT test but a bike doesn't - although it should have one fitted under Construction & Use regulations!

VOSA MOT test manuals

However, if you have a number plate lamp fitted to the bike it must work. Confusing eh? :102:

At the end of the day it is all down to the tester's discretion. However, any tester worth his salt will be more than happy to advise on such issues if you ask when you book the MOT.
