Under saddle finish following exhaust change

Hi all, a month after getting a Tenere and I've just fitted an MTC single can that i picked up on ebay. The factory exhaust provided some mudguard type protection and now theres a hole which water an muck can get into. Does anybody have any good ideas to resolve this and tidy ?? Was thinking about fabricating a plastic shield (Kellys ice cream lid is black plastic ... any excuse to eat a tub of ice cream !!)

I've temporary fixed it with duct tape. Temporary means last year... :)

I like your thinking.

I used an old plastic paint tin lid, but whatever covers the gap works.

I now have a picture of you eating a pot of paint in order to have a lid available for bike purposes.
