Acerbis Rally Pro Handguards
Would the Acerbis Rally Pro handguard fit the XT660Z ??
This one: http://www.ebay.com/itm/330754826920...84.m1423.l2649 |
The problem is at the bar end if you are using OE handlebars. Because the ends are threaded for the weights they aren't a diameter that aftermarket hand guards and bar ends fit.

Couldn't answer as i've never used a fatbar so don't know the inside diameter. Normal Renthal are fine.

I fitted them on mine, did a litle modification and kept the original bar weights, but I am not impressed with the quality though. Cracked after one litle incident. I am going for the Barkbuster next time.

when i can finally find some Renthals that i want will my barkbusters fit? or does it depend on what model Renthals i get? |
I have them on my moto, without the bar weights and with the standard bars. No extra vibration apparent.
They were on my moto when I bought it...to be honest I'd prefer bigger ones for extended road use to keep the wind/rain off my hands...not much protection for that sort of use compared to others I'd say. I think off the road dot com maybe do a 'spoiler' to fit over these to make them bigger...must check and when I can be arsed. In an off road application they're fine...does what it says on the tin as it were. :) |
Try the Barkbuster Storm. Same ally spine as the ones on the adv-spec link, but bigger plastics.

Ohlins: Yepp, with spoiler is probably better! Thanx for pointing me to offtheroad, they had better price! Didn't know they had Acerbis handguards. Do you have any pictures on the Rally Pro on the tenere? Anybody tested the Acerbis Rally 3? They look quite nice also.... Im mostly riding offroad so I think the Rally Pro with spoilers would fit my needs. But if they crack because of a small hit, well then I don't know... :/ |

I have rally pro hand guards from Acerbis. I fit spoilers from another model(the one without aluminium) I used the mounting kit (bar side) from the touratech. I need to make the halls bigger but it wasn't an isue.
Most importand is that they fitt perfectly and the cluch lever not touch the grip as before with touratech guards. Wind protection is ok and they are strong enough to survive an accident. You can see the pictures here: https://picasaweb.google.com/1111224...83376422707490 https://picasaweb.google.com/1111224...83570470920546 https://picasaweb.google.com/1111224...83414748866274 https://picasaweb.google.com/1111224...83321309182818 I hope this will help. |
Thanks, that looks great! Nice Bike you have, would love to change forks on my also. Maybe next winter.... :)
Does anybody know something about the Rally 3 handguards? They also looks pretty neat, but will the tolerate a hit to the ground? It says aluminium reinforcement, but I guess its not as tough as the rally pro? |
