Newbie from Sweden

Hi,

Just became a member and thought I'd introduce myself. I've been riding different types of motorcycles for about 15 years. I don't currently own an XT660 but I am seriously considering buying one for the coming season. However, I'm having trouble deciding on which one I'm most interested in (X, R or Z). They all have their good and bad stuff and all of them are in their own way applicable to my needs. I hope the information on this site/forum can help med decide and once the decision is made I'm sure it will be a valueble source of information on mods that needs to be done. :)

Probably not unfortunately, but maybe some of my parts fits the XTR with a little bit of luck. I would think my handlebar clamps ( this thread) would fit. But I have not tried... :)

No, well, maybe. I friend of mine's got a Z and I'm sure I could wrestle up an R and an X fr test drive come spring. It's frustrating to wait that long though.

I've discussed the issue with the Z-friend long and hard and I'm currently leaning towards the R due to the fact that it's kinda "the middle of the road". Nothing is certain yet though. I'm gonna take a closer look at all of them IRL this week at the National Bike Fair in Stockholm (if they're displayed there of course).

Welcome,
You have to go even further north to find me.

MrOCM 02-02-13 12:27

The decision has been made. I've taken the plunge and I'm picking up an almost brand new XT 660 R next weekend. Since I'm buying this bike basically purely on recommendation (I have never ridden one) I'm really looking forward to the first test drive. However, I'm probably going to have to wait a couple of months until the snow is gone.

Ha ha get icetyres instead you will be verraskad how it is!!!!!!

Yesterday I went on a roughly 1700 mile trip to pick up my XT660R so now I'm officially an XT660 owner. I also just payed for the supporter membership so no I'm also a "proper" member of this community. It seems I am unable to access the manuals but I hope it's a temporary problem and it will be sorted out in a couple of days.

I'm really looking forward to snow free roads now so I can have a first test ride (I still haven't had a single test ride on an XT660 - I bought it purely on recommendation).

No worries your XT Supporters membership is fully active however as you joined it quite late, I was not awake to respond to you, if you check your inbox now there is a private message from me with all the directions on how to access the manual download area. Thank you for joining the XT Supporters.
