Hi there!

Hello,

I'm Nick, originally from Vienna, Austria, now living in Southsea, UK.
I own a red 2010 Tenere. I also own a 1982 XT500.

Thank you.

Hi and welcome, best of both worlds eh!

You must keep an eye out for the annual XT meet at Hay on Wye, some of the XT500's there are magnificent.:icon_salut:

I'd second that. I usually turn up on a 600E and get laughed at for being too modern. I can't wait to see what happens this year on a 660R :). As long as the Belgians bring the beer, it's all good.

Most of the bikes are XT500s of various vintages and stages of modification. Some are stunning. I turn up on a 600E and there is usually another, newer one to keep it company. Then there's yer man on his Tenere. There's a bit of ribbing, but nothing serious. A few guys from the Thumper Club usually turn up too, so it's quite a mix - last year there was a Norton 16H and a vintage Indian. There's a lot of Belgian and German 500 owners who go there, some riding all the way, some with vans and trailers.

There's another meet in Belgium later this year that I am hoping to attend. In answer to your question, yes - provided you don't mind a bit of good-natured mickey-taking.
